Main Hall
We have transformed a warehouse into a spacious, sound proof, climate controlled multi-use space. The 9m (D) x 7m (W) x 4.2m (H) (63m²) can be used in any way you see fit. The New Zealand pine flooring is great for ping pong, Yoga, exercise classes or for recordings with a bit more reflections. We have carpets to tame some of the floor reflections and to make it a softer feeling space.
The giant 200" screen turns the Mail Hall into a movie theater for movie screenings or just to enjoy some movies with Friends. It can also be used for presentations and seminars for larger groups of people. Two QSC K12.2 active loudspeakers are mounted on the walls for excellent sound for movies as well as live music. These speakers can be moved to the stage area if you are performing from the stage.
The 1.82 meter by 7 meter stage can be used as a stage (of course), a spot to shoot video from above or a control room for video, audio and lighting control for live events. The small 0.9 meter by 1.7 meter stage in the corner is a great place for a presenter to stand during presentations and seminars. The lower slope can be moved under the upper slope for more floor space.
There is also a large table, office chairs and a white board that can be used for meetings. Additional tables and chairs can be rented for larger events.
We can't wait to see all the creative ways this space can be used.
Studio J
Studio J is a stand alone recording studio built in a shipping container that can be rented alone or with the other spaces. The recording room (2.9m (d) x 2.1m (w) x 1.9m (h)) and control room (2.2m (d) x 2m (w) x 2m (h)) have been acoustically treated to be silent and free of reflections for clean and realistic recordings. It's also a great place for songwriting, telework or small meetings.
When you rent this space for Recording or Video Production you can use any of the gear we have at the Human Arts Studio and our production assistant will be there to assist with setup and operation.
Studio J can be rented together with the Main Hall and used as a makeup room, control room, meeting room or isolated recording booth.
Sunset Space
The Sunset Space is a container house with a dining kitchen and a great smelling hinoki cypress bathroom and a large, two story deck. This space can be rented alone or with the other spaces. It's a great place for parties, relaxing, or for food services for events and video shoots.
There are three chairs and a small table in the kitchen and there are tables and chairs that can be used on the decks as well.
There is a toilet in the container house and a second toilet behind Studio J.
Electrical System
Since we first started at the original Studio J, we have know that clean electricity and grounding can drastically improve the sound quality. We have been working with the president of Izumi Denki Corp., Sumio Shimamoto, audio electricity specialist and power amp designer for 15 years. Every time he visits, he makes updates to the electricity and every time it sounds like we got a gear upgrade. For the Human Arts Studio he has set us up with the ultimate electrical system which is the outcome of his many years of experience with electricity for audio. An audiophile grade electrical system with with exceptional 2.5 Ohm grounding, custom designed Rhodium circuit breakers, a dedicated high voltage transformer pole and custom made polymer outlets for a noise-free, incredibly clear and natural sound that you will not find in other studios. Shimamoto san says that this is the best he can make, the cutting edge!
